07.07.2009 > 29.07.2009: Festival d'AVIGNON, Île de la Barthelasse
Founded in 2001 by Jack Souvant and Isabelle Rivoal, the french Collectif BONHEUR INTERIEUR BRUT (which could be translated into something like "Raw Inner Happiness") gathers comedians, musicians, circus artists, visual artists, around the idea of sharing and solidarity.

Their new project for 2008, entitled Ticket, which is on that same line, is inspired by current events : illegal immigrants trying to cross the borders.
In reaction to one of the cruelest tragedy of the modern world, Jack Souvant imagined that sort of "documentary-fiction". Everything happens inside a truck, specially designed to put up to 80 spectators in the situation of clandestine immigrants.
A voyage of approximatively 45 mn starts. Through special sound and light installations, you are invited to share the fate of men and women on the road to hope. The hope to escape their miserable lives for a dreamt Western World, even by running the risk to die.
"One cannot even speak of taking a risk, it's more like playing the russian roulette... Sometimes they depart on fragile boats and don't even know how to swim... Remember also the batch attacks against the grids of Ceuta and Melilla...
How can we come the closest possible from that danger, from that lurking and desperate move of these hunted, doomed, people ? They take all the risks to jump into the abyss of an eldorado... - (Jack Souvant)
Ticket is an attempt to cross the line between spectators and actors. A highly political work to inform about human traffic and try to bring some light into darkness... Sensitive theatre that takes your breathe away...

"That documentary performance takes us into a frightening journey, the one made by clandestine immigrants lead by a shady and extravagant smuggler. We enter a big truck and hide under blankets. During that still voyage, we see the unbearable ordinary brutalities that we'd rather forget, a young black woman suffering extreme violence just to receive a drop of water, a chinese man beaten up... We disembark bathing into a blinding light, without having reached the promised land. A journey everyone must make. May all street arts festival invite it !" (Edith Rappoport - blog)
Le Collectif BONHEUR INTERIEUR BRUT also proposes
Inspired by the painter Marc Chagall, Collectif Bonheur Interieur Brut created that little street performance.

Three enigmatic characters arrive in your city, looking for a place to stay for a while.
She climbs up in a tree and speaks with fishes.
He wears his house on his back and dances on stilts amongst the audience.
They drink, laugh and share precious moments with people around them.
A man plays old Eastern Europe tunes with his accordion.
But all of a sudden, they have to leave, escape again... for anywhere, out of this world.
It's a show for all kinds of audiences, poetic, melancholic, and yet light-hearted.
Special prize at Detmold Internationales Strassentheater Festival 2004, Germany.
